The official mascot of the powerful Lowndes County High School football team is the Vikings, but its athletes are also known as Plowboys.

Because of the overalls, I always thought it had something to do with farming.

The Valdosta Daily Times reports a Lowndes high school teacher is charged with three counts of sexual assault after an investigation determined she had sex with male students.

“Most of these students have now graduated, but each of the alleged instances was confirmed to have occurred while the children were students at the high school,” said police, who are looking for more victims.

Phoebe Jo Chapman, 42, resigned her position as career and technical instruction teacher, the school system says.

Chapman turned herself in Tuesday, but was no longer in custody early Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office website.
